I’ve never been much of a fan of lessons where the teacher just talks the whole time, gives you an exercise to practice at home, and scolds or shames you if you don’t. Once we figure out what you’re hoping to get out of your lessons, we’ll do less talking and more real-time playing. I’ll be playing along with you, and we’ll embrace mistakes as a necessary part of mastering the material. My aim is to have each lesson show you how much you (and I) can improve after just a few minutes of focused exercise. I want you to leave each lesson inspired by the power and fun of practicing your instrument— especially when you have someone to practice with.
